Your missionThe purpose of health and safety coordination is to provide SMS divisions and sites with information and support to implement and coordinate effective health and safety programs. As our Health & Safety Specialist, you take ownership of our Cobalt and Hard Metal Control program and coordination of health and safety initiatives for all divisions within SMS. You’re our contact person towards authorities and continuously share knowledge from your area of expertise with others across the organization. You raise awareness to evaluate and reduce potential risks, and with a sustainability focus, you work to constantly improve our health and safety culture and ensure that the work is conducted in accordance with applicable laws, standards and overall goals for the business. This includes creating processes, procedures and tools, and sharing of best practices to reduce exposure to cobalt and hard metals. You coordinate global health and safety activities regarding cobalt, and act as chairman for global working groups within your area of expertise.Your profileWe’re looking for someone with a relevant university degree and at least five years’ work experience within the area of health and safety. You have a good set of computer skills and you are used to performing risk evaluations and risk analyses. You’re also an experienced team leader and participant, and you’re comfortable working in a global setting. Since we operate on a global scale and have our site in Sweden, you have excellent language skills in English, verbally as well as in writing, while skills in Swedish is an advantage. We place great value on your personal qualities, characterized by your calm yet confident personality – making you a great leader and coordinator. Since you’re a very good planner and a structured person who doesn’t fear taking initiative, you’re comfortable working independently.
