Your mission
In this position, you’re an important part in creating and implementing our R&D strategy. You establish a customer-centric, efficient, and profitable organization that support us in expanding our offering and strengthening our market position going forward. This is done by a confident, systematic and target driven approach in a complex setting with many interfaces. With focus on R&D, you drive optimization and aim to create a culture of development and innovation. You take ownership, are committed to the overall financial result, and you plan and implement strategies that enable our long-term vision and future direction.
An integral part is your strong collaboration skills, and you make sure to keep all of our stakeholders, both internal as well as external, in the loop. By leading our business from a global and multidisciplinary perspective, you generate value in technological synergies and form the right prerequisites for capable and motivated employees. As a leader you encourage and mentor, and your strategic mind, inclusive leadership, and commercial outlook is a crucial asset. You lead a team of direct reporting managers, and you’re an active member of the Global R&D management team. You report directly to the Vice President of R&D.
The location for this position is in Fagersta, Sweden, where your presence and close dialogue with our employees and Seco HQ is of importance, however we also offer you the possibility of remote working. International traveling is included in this role.
Your profile
We’re in need of an experienced leader with skills in engineering, customer relations and innovation, and with the cultural competence that comes from working in a complex and global organization. Your experience is backed by a masters’ degree within a relevant field of studies, previous management experience of senior professionals and ability to handle vast networks. It’s beneficial with experience from R&D, product management and sales. As we act on a global stage, you have proficient skills in both written and verbal English, while knowledge in Swedish is a plus.
Leading a highly skilled and ambitious team, it’s important that your leadership style is based on high integrity, engagement and genuine empowerment. You’re curious, inclusive and communicative – and naturally skilled in collaboration and stakeholder management. Your strategic and structured ways of working are solid assets, and you’re a stable decision-maker with the ability to achieve results and navigate in constantly evolving settings. With a passion for development and new perspectives, you both challenge us and are willing to be challenged, and you constantly seek new business opportunities without losing track of our path and vision.
