About the job
In this position, you work with and lead a competent and global team with a mix of engineering and PhD backgrounds. You act in our Engineering Systems & Information organization, a committed, diverse, and highly skilled organization dedicated to support digital transformation. Your main responsibility is to implement our strategy by managing activities to develop and maintain digital solutions and back-end platforms using data, modelling, AI/ML, and smart tools to help our customers improve productivity, cost, and sustainability.
By monitoring and analyzing the competitive landscape, you stay ahead of the curve and ensure that our solutions remain competitive and relevant in the market and identify areas for potential growth.
Additionally, to guarantee alignment with the organization's strategy and goals, you analyze and set local targets, estimate costs, resources and time required to implement the targets and thoroughly monitor the performance of your projects to ensure they create the value needed and correct deviations when necessary.
The location for this position is flexible between our Seco sites in Sweden, India, or central Europe. This position requires some travel depending on where you’re located, especially to our headquarters in Fagersta Sweden. We also recognize the flexibility of remote working.
Your profile
We’re looking for an experienced leader with skills in business development and stakeholder management, combined with a few years’ experience in the machining industry. Your experience is backed by a university degree in a relevant field of studies or equivalent work experience. To be successful in this role, we also believe that your background involves working with and leading global teams and coaching specialists. We see it as beneficial if you previously have worked with academic collaborations, partners, and companies in international settings as well as new technologies and machining technologies. Acting in a global environment calls for fluency in both verbal and written English.

Your mission

Your profile
We’re in need of an experienced leader with skills in engineering, customer relations and innovation, and with the cultural competence that comes from working in a complex and global organization. Your experience is backed by a masters’ degree within a relevant field of studies, previous management experience of senior professionals and ability to handle vast networks. It’s beneficial with experience from R&D, product management and sales. Your mission
In this position, you are responsible for the overall performance and delivery of the Grades team; a driven crew of experts with the willpower to develop both our products and themselves. You cooperate with other managers within Insert Tools to ensure synergies and share best practices with the aim of moving the organization forward together.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a degree in Materials Engineering, Technical Engineering or a similar field of studies. You have at least five years’ experience from successfully leading an R&D team, with experience from change management and a solid understanding of the industry we operate in. Since we act in a global environment, you have good written and verbal English skills, while knowledge of Swedish is an advantage.

About the job
In this role, you help us build a customer-centric, efficient and profitable R&D organization that supports us in rapidly growing our offering and strengthening our market position going forward. You do this by holistically ensuring optimized ways of working, and you form a culture of innovation, knowledge sharing, tech alliances and standard methodologies. You drive ongoing product development, take ownership for our solid milling roadmaps, act on business priorities and handle the R&D project portfolio. You also ensure effective daily operations, and you build new opportunities by transparent communication, disrupting the status quo and empowering people to unleash their ideas.
We operate in a setting with many interfaces and partners, and collaboration is central to us. Close interactions with customers is key. Building liaison between the Solid Milling team and the wider Seco organization is another important item on your agenda as we are bringing R&D closer to the business. The members of your R&D team are located in Lottum (Netherlands), Fagersta (Sweden) and Reynoldsville (USA), and we need you to be based at either one of these sites. With a global customer base, the job also includes some planned travel.

At our R&D Materials and Technology Department in Fagersta, we develop materials and process technology for the company’s cutting tool inserts. We’re responsible for product and material development – all the way from raw material to finished products – and our team of skilled professionals actively engage in a common mission to develop the future of cemented carbides.
We’re now looking for a manager to lead our development of raw materials and powders, compaction and sintering. Briefly about the job
Being Manager for Cemented Carbide Technology, you take lead in securing the strategies, planning, and performance within the associated technology areas. You make the impossible possible by leading, motivating and constantly developing your team, and as you walk in the front line of development, you contribute with your technical knowledge and actively support the team in operational duties. Naturally, strong collaborations with other functions within and outside R&D are crucial, and you’re the one who ensures to build and uphold the collaborative ties.
In this role, you report to the Senior R&D Manager for Materials and Technology and Development at Seco Tools. You’re based with the team in Fagersta, though we offer the opportunity to work remotely when suitable.
