Within the supply chain organization, the Regional Transportation Specialist will focus on the cost effective sourcing of efficient transportation solutions as well as maintaining the highest level of SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality). This position will assist in advancing the regional transportation within our supply chain as a competitive advantage to our customers.
Job description
* Support Regional Transportation in reaching KPI’s in the following areas: Transportation cost within the region
* Transportation service and On Time Delivery to promised lead times
* Lead RFI/RFP/RFQ, negotiations, service requirements, data collection, provider evaluations, visits, business reviews, and strategic meetings with transportation forwarders and carriers
* Support and coordinate service provider implementation
* Act as transportation sourcing and supplier quality liaison to the global transportation team
* Create and implementing sourcing and quality standards for the region
* Adhere to the guidelines and regulations in regards to Safety, Environment and Quality
* Maintain an effective working relationship with local, regional, and global resources to ensure the successful implementation of regional or global initiatives
* Collect and communicate regional market intelligence
* Maintain internal systems and records as required
* Focus on key transportation projects, outcomes, policies
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve supplier performance and add value to our customers
* Drive Supplier Development together with strategic suppliers within the region
* Host training sessions with internal and external stakeholders
* Participate in regional Supply Chain projects and support global projects when needed
Maintain progress reporting to Regional Transportation Manager
Your profile
Formal education requirement for this position is BS in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent experience and a minimum five years of Supply Chain experience. You need to be a skillful MS Office user (mainly Excel, PowerPoint and Word). M3 knowledge preferred but not mandatory.
For this position, you will need a strong knowledge of Transportation negotiation skills and sourcing practices, thorough understanding of supply chain processes, thorough understanding of domestic and international transportation sourcing and supplier quality development and thorough understanding in logistic and distribution processes.
You need to be strong analytical and have good communication skills. It is important to have a positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with all functions for the good of Epiroc. Further, you need to be business oriented and able to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels as well as dynamic and results driven, and you firmly believe that there is a better way.
Strong English communication skills both verbal and written. Additional Languages are preferred.
Location and travel
Moderate travel is required. This position is located in Fagersta, Sweden.
